Materials Science is an exciting, multi-disciplinary field that investigates matter and materials across a broad range of scales, interactions, and applications. As the need for lighter, smaller and smarter materials and devices grows, significant advancement in technology is increas¬ingly relying on materials scientists and engineers to design and develop new materials and devices, powerful characterization techniques and novel processing and fabrication technolo¬gies. From nanotechnology to biomaterials, materials scientists develop new materials and techniques, and improve existing ones. To meet the demand for researchers and scientists in this field, Hindustan University offers an innovative, interdisciplinary M.Sc. program focusing on the fundamental science of materials. Designed for graduates of science program who want a career in interdisciplinary research, the M.Sc. in Materials Science is a two-year post gradu¬ate program that will develop knowledge and research experience at the interface of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering.

This program will be attractive to students interested in moving directly into industry or the public sector, or continuing on to a Ph.D. program in Materials Science or Physics . Post Gradu-ates of the Materials Science Program will be well prepared to work collaboratively, conduct independent and multidisciplinary research and recognize their role in solving global chal-lenges. On successful completion of the course the candidate can take up jobs in industry as Scientific Officer (Quality Assurance/ Quality Control), Materials Project Manager and Scientist Materials Research and also in academics as Junior Research Fellow in the National Laborato-ries, Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science in various Universities in India and abroad. |
